As Lollapalooza launched its 20 th anniversary edition on Friday in Chicago, organizers announced plans for international expansion. The concert will take place in Brazil for the first time next year on April 7 and 8 in the Jockey Club de Sao Paulo. It will also make a return trip to Santiago de Chile on March 31 and April 1. The festival founder Perry Farrell said in a statement, "Brazilians have a rich history of the celebration. If (Lolla) can rub them, who knows what heights the party will come."
Lollapalooza started as a concert tour in 1991 and reborn as a destination festival in 2005 will be held at Grant Park in Chicago. This year's lineup features 130 bands on eight stages, including Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse, My Morning Jacket and Deadmau5.
Three-day tickets for the event go to as much as $ 215, and a record 90,000 people expected to attend. The festival has been expanded to 35 acres to accommodate the largest crowd.

WME Marc Geiger, a festival co-founder, told the Los Angeles Times is considering third Lollapalooza international standing in 2013.
